500 Turkish Companies Seek Competitive Advantage in China

Turkish-China Business Council Chairman Yavuz Onay stressed China is rich in its raw material and semi-product sources and said production in China brought competitive power to firms. Onay also stated that Turkish companies which turn to China are engaged mostly in electronic and textile sectors and said: "Because production costs are high in Turkey, companies headed toward China, which is a world factory.

Turkey relies on assembly industry. Everything comes from abroad, and this raises the prices. And this makes our local industrialists move abroad. Companies have no problems about market in China. Today, there are large and small 500 Turkish companies in China. 50 of them are production-oriented and the others are engaged as agencies. 3-4 companies come every day to investigate the investment atmosphere in China. My room is active like the elective office of a parliamentarian."
